John Pavka, 90, of 145 Perkins St., Coldwater, died Sunday evening at 7:45 at Maple Lawn hospital where he had been a patient for two months. Death closed a long illness.
Funeral services in charge of the Baggerly Funeral Home, will be held Wednesday at 2 o'clock at the Mennonite Church in California township, with the Rev. Malvin Mller in charge. Interment will be in California cemetery.
Mr. Pavka was born in Austria-Hungary on August 27, 1872, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Knotek) Pavka. He and his wife, Christina, who survives, came to Coldwater from Halls Corners seven years ago. Mr. Pavka was a farmer.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Frank of Coldwater and Anthony of Ray, Ind.; two step-sons, Joseph of Toledo, Ohio, and Steve of Wexford, Penn.; two step-daughters, Stella Halick of Livonia and Mary Pavka of Ray, Ind.; 22 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
