She died at Elcor Health Services. Sharlet was the daughter of Raymond and Alice (Wheeler) Walters. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank E. Goodyear in 1979; sister, Alice (Tiny) Cady; and brother, James Walters.

Sharlet was survived by her daughter, Nancy (Ed Olmsted) Whitaker of Horseheads, NY; sons and daughters-in-law, John E. (Gayle) Goodyear of Tulsa, OK and Dr. James A. (Debra) Goodyear of Berlin, WI; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Sharlet was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Horseheads, a life member of Eastern Star, and retired from Winchester Optical in Elmira, NY.
