John Edward Cosgrave Stricken With Paralysis

John Edward Cosgrave, for almost thirty years an employee of the Union Pacific railway shops in this city, died at 5:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon from a paralytic stroke. He had been in good health up to the time he was stricken, an hour before his death, and was returning home from attendance on services in Holy Family church when he was seen to fall. Assistance was rendered, but despite everything that could be done he passed away about an hour afterward.

Mr. Cosgrave was born in County Cork, Ireland, in 1838. He came to this country and Omaha in 1873. He was a carpenter by trade and had a wide circle of friends in this city. He leaves a widow and five children. His sons are P. H. Cosgrave, Colorado City, Colo.; N. P., Herrington, Kas., and J. W., Omaha, and his daughters are Mrs. William T. Truckey and Mrs. P. W. Monaghan, both of Omaha. One brother, James W. Cosgrave, retired after long service in the shops, resides in Omaha. Mr. Cosgrave resided at 2008 Grace street.

No arrangements have been made as yet for the funeral.
