Services for Mr. Tom Batey
Jr., 48, will be held Thursday
at 4 p.m. in the First United
Methodist Church, with burial
in the Northview Cemetery.
Mr. Batey was born April
19, 1954 in Laurens County,
living there all his life. He was
the son of the late Betty Blanchard
Batey. Mr. Batey was a
graduate of Dublin High
School, Berry College, West
Georgia College and Georgia
Southern University. He was a
member of the Dublin Chamber
of Commerce, Elks Club
and Moose Club. He had many
professional educational affiliations
and was involved in
many community activities.
Ho was the former principal of
Dublin Middle School. Mr.
Batey died Tuesday evening at
Fairview Park Hospital following
a brief illness.
Survivors include his wife,
Debra Garner Batey of Dublin;
father, Thomas Batey Sr. of
Dublin; two daughters, Melissa
Batey of Atlanta and
Courteney Batey of Dublin;
brother and sister-in-law, Jim
and Susan Batey of Dublin
and two sisters and a brother-
in-law, Ann and Bo Howell
and Cathy Spivey, all of Dublin.
The family asks in lieu of
flowers donations be made to
The Dublin Middle School Athletic
Club.
