PHILIPSBURG - Peter Blazosky, 82, of North Philipsburg died yesterday afternoon, June 21, at 12:10 p.m. in the Philipsburg State General Hospital.
A son of the late Peter and Ustina (Rhenish) Blazosky, he was born in Austria Sept. 12, 1885. He was a member of St. John's Greek Orthodox Catholic Church and the Greek Catholic Lodge of Hawk Run.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna Hritz, Jan. 15, 1953; a son, Michael, in 1966 and a son, Joseph (Hoover) in 1960.
Surviving are these children: Mrs. Lewis (Ann) Jones of Hawk Run; Mrs. Jack (Helen) Valenti of Long Island, N.Y.; Mrs. Martha Curtorillo at home; Peter and John of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; Mrs. Gene (Mary) Hummel of Downingtown; and Edward of Chester.
Twenty one grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren survive as do two brothers and two sisters: Michael of Beaverdale; Joseph of North Philipsburg; Mrs. Mary Latz of New Liberty; and Mrs. Annie Sudik of Hawk Run.
Friends will be received in his late home at North Philipsburg after 7 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. in his home and at 9:30 a.m. from St. John's Orthodox Catholic Church, Hawk Run, in charge of the Rev. Andrew Pankov. Interment will be in St. John's Byzantine Cemetery, Hawk Run.
Parastas will be said in the Blazosky residence at 7:30 p.m. today and tomorrow.
Arrangements are in charge of the James W. Weaver Funeral Home of Morrisdale.
