Mrs. Emoline Sophenia Phillips, age 77, Kingston, passed away on Monday morning, October 17, 2011, at a Cartersville hospital.

Mrs. Phillips was born in Cave Spring on October 28, 1933, daughter of the late Ralph Blankenship and the late Maggie Youngblood Blankenship. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Phillips, on May 12, 1998, by a son, Jonathan Daniel Phillips, and by a brother, Milton Blankenship, and his wife, Cornelia. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the East Rome Baptist Church and worked for 26 years at the Dairy Queen in West Rome.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Pam Burnett, and her husband, Gary, Rome, and Mrs. Sandra Hicks, and her husband, David, Armuchee; 2 sons, Charles W. Phillips, Kingston, and Tommy Phillips, and his wife, Laura, Rome; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at Oakland Cemetery.

Both active and honorary pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:30pm and include: Active: Brad Serpa, David Hicks, Andy Jarrell, Craig Phillips, Eddie Blankenship, and Mike Samuelson. Honorary: John Shaw.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
