Sedell Ferrell

A funeral service for Sedell "Red" Ferrell, age 83, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Doyle Hayes and Rev. David Burns officiating.

Interment will follow at Posey Cemetery, with David Stribling, Jr., Josh Ferrell, Jacob Ferrell, Quinton Ewalt, Kevin Campbell, Ronny Ferrell, Bradley Wood and Dylan Odom serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Ferrell, Stanley McQueen, Eddie Cox, Larry Mabe, Don Petty and Glenn Watson.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Sedell "Red" Ferrell passed away at Sunny Springs Nursing Home, on Saturday morning, October 20, 2012.

He was born in Hopkins County, on May 21, 1929, the son of Homer Ferrell and Pearl (Keith) Ferrell. He married Mary Tucker in the Branahm Community, on October 2, 1948; she survives. He was a retired dairyman and a member of Peerless Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: two sons, Larry Dean Ferrell and Johney Dell Ferrell and wife, Belinda; brother, Lee Ray Ferrell; three sisters, JoAnn Prince, Della Ruth Wright, all of Sulphur Springs and Patsy Jane Patridge of Pine Forest; grandchildren, Amanda Griffith, Josh Ferrell, David Stribling, Jr., Jacob Ferrell, Glenn Ferrell, Ronny Ferrell and Christin and Kevin Campbell and great-grandchildren, Dylan Odom, Alex Ferrell, Landon and Heston Gilbreath, Mazie Ferrell and Amber Stribling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Katherine "Kat" Hooten; son, Jerry Ferrell and granddaughter, Cassie Ferrell.

Memorials may be made to the Posey Cemetery Association.
