On Sunday afternoon at 2:20pmCT,, October 9, 2011, the Lord called Twyman Williams home.
The service was at 12pm noon CT, Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Mt. Union Baptist Church, with Rev. Mike Ash and Rev. Douglas Barber the officiating clergy. Interment was in Mt. Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Kelvin Ford, George Thompson, Thomas Williams, Robert Williams, Herman Mitchell, Marvin Newby, and James Darnell.
Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Bridgewater, James Griffin, Marshall Ford, Homer Williams, Johnny Robinson, Horace Compton, Kimball Williams.
He was born Wednesday, August 11, 1926 in Green County, KY. He was the son of the late Henry Williams and Mary Lizzie Davis. He died Sunday, October 9, 2011, at the age of 85 years, 1 month, and 28 days.
Twyman joined the Mt. Union Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until his illness.
He married Mildred Cowherd on August 25, 1956, and to this union three children were born.
Twyman was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He cherished each and every one of his grandchildren to the point that he would get up from a restful nap to go to the store for a candy fix and pack backup pacifiers in every pocket.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Williams, and the following:
One daughter: Marilyn Williams, Boston, MA
Two sons: Ricky Williams (Melissa), Greensburg, KY, Steven Williams, Batavia, Illinois
Eight great grandchildren.
Two sisters: Gracie Buckner, Louisville, KY, and Katherine Williams, Louisville, KY.
And a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers, Furnis, Junior, Charlie, Roosevelt, Herschel, Jim, John, and Thomas, three sisters, Obeliah Thompson, Eva Warren and Ethel Williams.
