James Cecil Hackney-age 95 of Alcoa, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012, at his home. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1946 where he served in many capacities. He was a deacon since 1950. He was a World War II veteran where he served in Texas, Virginia, North Africa, the invasion of Sicily, Corsica, France and Belgium. He was retired from Alcoa after 41 years working in the Planning Department. He was also a member of the Alcoa 25 year club. Preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Rogers Hackney; parents, Fred and Mattie Duff Hackney; sister, Lorene McElyea, brother and sister-in-law, Ray D. And Marie Hackney, brothers-in-law, Walter Harrill, Alfred Rogers, and D.H. Jenkins.
Survivors include: sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Jenkins of Alcoa, Wilma and Dude Allison, Eleanor Harrill, Helen and Bob Hutsell all of Maryville; several nieces and nephews
Family and friends will meet 2:00 Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Grandview Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Danny Davis and Rev. Jim Dial officiating. Family and friends may call at their convenience at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
