George Lee Long, 67, died at 11:35 am, Monday, Sept. 12, 1977 in SwedishAmerican Hospital after a long illness. Born Aug. 29, 1910 in Jackson, Tenn., son of Mr. and Mrs. George Long. Lived 30 years in Rockford, coming here from Tennessee. Married the former Gustine Clark in Mississippi in 1957. Employed as a laborer by Illinois Central Railroad 30 years before retiring. Survivors include his widow, Gustine; his mother, Mrs. Bobbie Lee Anderson, Rockford; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Miles, St. Louis, Mo.; and Mrs. Samella Weddle, Rockford, and several nieces and nephews. Services 11 am Friday, Sept. 16 in Julian-Poorman Funeral Home with Rev. Eldridge H. E. Gilbert, pastor, Pilgrim Baptist Church, officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
