Birth: Nov. 6, 1848
Death: May 5, 1915

Guilford A Wright, one of the best known and highly esteemed citizens of Tippecanoe county, died at 7:45 o’clock last night at his home in Clark’s Hill of a complication of diseases. His health had been impaired for some time. He was born near Clark’s Hill November 6, 1848, and his entire life was spent there, with the exception of short intervals when he was away for the benefit of his wife’s health and while he was in charge of a bank at Kirkpatrick. Early in life Mr Wright was a farmer, but 15 years ago he retired and organized the Farmer’s Bank of Clark’s Hill. He served as cashier of that bank until 1909, and went to Kirkpatrick, where he organized the Kirkpatrick bank, becoming its cashier. After serving for two years he was succeeded by his son Harry, and returned to Clark’s Hill. He then organized the Clark’s Hill State bank and served for one year as cashier, then retiring from active business, when he made a trip to California for the benefit of his wife’s health. Mr Wright was a member of the Masonic fraternity at Clark’s Hill and of the Odd Fellows at Stockwell. For many years he took an active interest in politics and served for some time as trustee of Lauramie township.
