Without a moment’s warning Mrs William Welch dropped dead at her home in Clark’s Hill at 5:20 o’clock Monday morning. She had not been complaining of being ill and had just put water on the stove preparing to do the Monday washing. While in the act of shoveling some cobs for the kitchen stove she tumbled over and before a physician arrived she passed away. Mrs Welch was a very heavy woman and death is attributed to heart trouble. At the time she was stricken her venerable father, husband and children were sitting at the table eating their breakfast. Deceased was born fifty-two years ago in Montgomery county and had resided in Clark’s Hill for ten years. Her son, William is manager of the Co-operative Telephone company at that place.
