Sidney Anne "Anna" Gault Mitchell was my Great-Grandmother. I found this newspaper clipping among my mother's memorabilia recently. She was the widow of S.B. (Smiley) Mitchell. She died at her home from cancer. The Certificate of Death said she died from anemia and an abdominal tumor. She was treated by J.C. McCauley, M.D. from Aug. 31, 1907 through September 16, 1907. She died at 2:30 a.m. She was 47. At the time of her death, she was survived by two sons: Herbert (my Grandfather), of Rochester, Beaver, Pennsylvania, and Arthur, of the Philippine Islands. Two brothers also survived: Oliver and John Gault, of Rochester. The funeral took place on a Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock from the residence at No. 173 Kentucky Avenue, Rochester. Interment in Lacock's Cemetery. Burial arrangements on September 18, 1907 by Hartzel Bros., Rochester.
