D. Frederic Gehman, age 50, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. He was born in Lancaster, PA, son of Ruth Eby Gehman of Lancaster and the late Donald H. Gehman. He was a member of Hershey Mennonite Church of Kinzers, where he was actively involved all his life, serving as Sunday School Teacher, superintendent, trustee and usher. He worked as an electrician for Hertzler Electric of Mt. Joy. He was a graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School class of 1980 and had also attended Messiah College. Fred will be remembered for his commitment to family and church, his sense of humor and his love of sports. Fred was an avid golfer and played and coached softball and baseball. He enjoyed attending sports events and watching sports on television.

Surviving besides his mother is a sister, Diane E. Gehman of Lancaster. Aunts, uncles and cousins also ­survive.

Funeral service will take place from the Hershey Mennonite Church, 401 Hershey Church Road, Kinzers, PA on Friday, October 19th, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Ezra Tice officiating. The interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the Shivery Funeral Home, Inc., 3214 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, PA on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the church on Friday from 2 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hershey Mennonite Church, 401 Hershey Church Road, Kinzers, PA 17535.
