Albert was the son of Luke and June Bravinder. He married Lucy Lyon on 18 Mar 1876 in Black Hawk County, Iowa. They were the parents of Winnifred, Floyd, Edmund, Louise Hattie, Florence, Thomas (1885), Bernice, Beryl, and Albert,jr.
Oct 3, 1924 - Humboldt Republican - A.A. Bravinder was born March 20, 1851, in the province of Ontario, Canada. At the age of four years, his parents moved to Black Hawk county, Iowa, near Waterloo, being among the very early pioneers of this section of the state. Here he grew to manhood, attending country school and later the Baptist college at Wilton Junction. After teaching for about two years, he began farming on the Bravinder homestead.
On March 22, 1866 he was married to Lucy Lyon of Laport City, IA. After about 3 years they moved to a farm in Humboldt county. Here the children were born and grew to maturity: Winnifred Gaskiel of Corwith, who died in June of this year; Floyd M. of Redwood, Minnesota; Edmund B. of Humboldt; Louise of Corwith; Florence Simmons of Los Angeles; Bernice Osborn of Sioux City; Beryl Lovrien of Eagle Grove; and Albert Junior, who died in infancy.
For thirty-three years the family occupied the homestead, facing the privations and hardships of the early pioneers. Ten years ago the home farm was sold and land purchased in Redwood county, near Marshall. Their home has been in Marshall since that time. Mr. Bravinder united with the M.E. church of Livermore, Iowa, thirty three years ago. He has been a faithful devoted Christian worker, standing firmly for those things he believed right and just.
His death at the age of 73 occurred from angina pectoris Saturday Sept 27, 1924. The funeral party arrived at 3:30 o'clock, Monday afternon. A brief service was in charge of Rev. Chas. A. Richards, pastor of the M.E. church. Interment at the family plot at Union cemetery.
