He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Sharpsburg. He was one of the original C. and O. Canal boatmen.
Besides his wife, he is survived by the following: daughters, Mildred L. and Anna K. at home; Mrs. Dorothy H. Williams, Smithsburg; Mrs. Agnes Johnston, Hyndman, Pa.; sons, William W., Ellis F., Roland J. and D. McKinley, all of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Norment Funeral Home after 11 a.m. today until 11 a.m. Saturday.
Services were held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Sharpsburg; interment was in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg; arrangements were by the Norment Funeral Home.
