Postwar he married Mary Wilkinson. In 1881 he married Marie Barclay in Savannah GA.; children: Frances Armistead Taliaferro, Anthony Barclay Taliaferro, Charles Champe Taliaferro III.
Grandfather of Charles Champe Taliaferro IV.
Became school teacher in Macon and Savannah GA.; later, lived in Greenville, MS & Orange Co., VA., when he was elected a member of the VA House of Delegates.

Residence was not listed; a 19 year-old Farmer.

He was transferred into "H" Co. VA 4th Cavalry "Black horse Cavalry" on 8/18/1861.
