Medical Figure. He was allegedly "HIV Patient O" (the O standing for 'outside the area' in a California study) or "HIV Patient Zero", a French-Canadian flight attendant suspected of being a major source of the early spread of AIDS in North America. However, many refute that there was ever a "Patient Zero". Dugas was among the earliest AIDS cases reported in the United States. (bio by: MC)
