Mrs. Mary Ethel Rogers, wife of B.F. (Bud) Rogers, of Athensville, passed away at 4:40 A.M. Monday, Dec. 18, at Alton Memorial Hospital, following a three week illness of Tularemia, contracted while dressing rabbits. Her age was 57 years. Her maiden name was Mary Ethel Sansam.
Surviving are the husband, and one daughter Mrs. Junior Stoddard of Alton; and the following sisters and brothers; Mrs. Permelia Rogers, Carrollton; Mrs. Ella Alderson, Whitehall; Mrs. Norma Maberry, Manchester; Mrs. Zeno Stinnett, Gillespie; Mrs. Chas. Mayberry, Carlinville; Mrs. Lulu Lambert, Palmyra; Charles Sansam, Greenfield; Elmer & William Sansam, Carlinville; and Melvin Sansam, Flat Rock, Mich.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. James R. Preston at the Athensville Baptist church, Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock. The flower bearers were Mildred Sansam, Dorothy Cox, Minnie Reynolds, Florence Hardin, Marjorie Norris and Freda Sansam. The casket bearers were Howard Sansam, Cloe Cox, Leland Reynolds, Robert Hardin, Roy Norris and Gerald Sansam.
Internment was at the Union Cemetery northwest of Greenfield.
