Homer Larry Britton, age 71 of Clay City, IL, passed away at 4:30 am, Sunday, October 14, 2012, at his home in Clay City, Illinois.

Homer was born Sunday, January 12, 1941 in Clay County, Hoosier Township, the son of the late Homer Britton and the late Dora Dickens Britton. He married Mary Jane Walker on January 12, 1963 at the Old Union Christian Church.

He enjoyed his time as an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan and was employed by Shelby Britton Oil Company in the Clay City area.

He is survived by wife, Mary Jane Britton; sons, Jerry and Homer Britton; daughters, Sherry Johnson and Carrie Lee; sisters, Inez Harrison and Peggy Groves; twelve grand children and eleven great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Dora Britton; brothers, Marion Britton and Jimmie Britton; and sisters Joyce Britton, Vida Mae Newby, Annabelle Haskel, Madge Bailey and Becky Land.

Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home.

Funeral services were at J.W. Neal Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Hoosier Prairie Cemetery, Louisville, IL.

Memorials to the Clay County Cancer Crusaders or the Clay City Christian Church Missionary Fund and will be recieved at the funeral home.
