According to the Kansas City Star:
Dr. G.W. Neville, a resident of Wyandotte County for half-a-century died Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Abraham Garrisen at Bethel, eight miles west of Kansas City, Kansas. He was in his eighty second year, having been born at Lexington, Kentucky on June 17, 1822. He suffered a stroke of paralysis about six weeks ago, and this with Bright's Disease and other complications due to old age, caused his death. He was married to Malinda Corum, and they had 7 daughters. When his brother James Neville was murdered in 1863, and James' widow died in 1865, Dr. Neville took care of the orphaned children, including my great grandfather, John Thomas Neville, his nephew. John Thomas Neville became a Baptist minister, and died in Windsor, Missouri in 1904.
