Soviet football player and coach, linebacker and Master of Sports, Honored coach of the Ukrainian SSR (1966), Honored Coach of the USSR (1960). He was one of the 50 best coaches of the 50th anniversary, according to the magazine World Soccer. He started playing in 1927 in Moscow in the club team "miners". In 1930 became a footballer RDPK, based on which club was formed, "Torpedo" Moscow , which until 1936 was called the AMO and VMS. In 1936-1939, he was the team captain. In 1941 reorganization of the club "Torpedo", defended the colors of the team " Unions-1. "After a single season of "unions" were reformed and again he returned to "Torpedo".
