Elder Oscar H. Durphy was a man of God.
His early years were spent in Baltimore, MD. with the original Rehoboth Church of God.
When Bishop Dickens, of Rehoboth Warwick, MD, passed. Elder Durphy took it upon himself, with permission from Bishop W.S. Barnes, Sr. at the time, to go help Rehoboth Warwick.
When Elder Durphy came to Rehoboth Warwick he knew that the saints were filled with determination and faith for God. He knew that the late Bishop Dickens wanted to move Rehoboth Warwick to Middletown, DE. But the Lord called him home before the thus.
After a period of time spent raising money, Elder Durphy went out and brought land in Middletown, DE. & fixed up the land and building himself along with some members of the church.
By September 1, 1980 Bishop Dickens dream was a reality as Rehoboth of Warwick, MD. became Rehoboth Church of God In Christ Jesus Apostolic Inc. of Middletown, DE. The saints knew it was nothing but God & hard work with the project.
Elder Durphy kept his house in Baltimore, MD. with his Loving wife, Levesta Durphy. They would travel to Middletown every time the church had service.
When Elder Durphy passed in 1998 he left the church to Elder N. Blake. with the permission of the Board of Trustees in Baltimore, MD.
