Harley was married twice. He married first Virginia Taylor (1918-1994). After Virginia's death, he married Patricia Conner March 7, 1998 in Kerr County.

Harley M. "Cookie" Cornelius, age 88 of Kerrville, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 in a local care center. He was born December 25, 1923 in Brownwood, TX to W.R. and Alta Cornelius. On March 7, 1998, he married Patricia "Pat" Conner in Medina. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II.

Cookie and Pat loved to RV and travel. Cookie also loved woodworking.

He was a member of the Kerrville Masonic Lodge and First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include wife, Pat Cornelius of Kerrville; daughters, Joye Vrana and husband, Louis of Lytle, TX and Judy Robey and husband, James of Elmendorf, TX; son, James Toalson of Kerrville; sister, Betty Pitman of Irving, TX; grandchildren, Kristen, Amanda, Trey, Samantha, Elizabeth, and Jennifer; great grandchildren, Bret, Ryan, Callie, Collin, and Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 11, 2012, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.

Services will be held Friday, October 12, 2012, 10 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Rev. Bob Allen. Masonic graveside services will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
