Attempt at Suicide
We learn that an old gentleman named John Scott, who must be about seventy years of age, attempted last evening to commit suicide by cutting his throat and by shooting himself in the forehead with a pistol. He held a razor in each hand and cut the windpipe in two places. The pistol ball entered the forehead, but was extracted and the wounds in the neck dressed by Dr. Sloan. We understand that he declares himself tired of life and avows his determination to accomplish his purpose.
