Mrs. Elizabeth Laverentz Dies At Home in Horton
Mrs. Elizabeth Laverentz, 73, died yesterday from a heart attack at her home in Horton. She had been in failing health for several years, but her death was unexpected. Mrs. Laverentz was born at Hanover in Washington County, the daughter of Carl and Lydia Molt, and lived there until she and Gustave Laverentz were united in marriage at Hanover on Jan 6, 1893. Mr. and Mrs. Laverentz began housekeeping on the Fenton farm five miles south of Denton, moved from there to a farm south of Leona where they lived for six years, and then returned to Washington County where they spent two years. From there they moved to the Gormley farm three miles east of Huron, later moved to a farm near Willis where they spent 19 years, then moved to the Huron vicinity where they lived for 13 years.
Mr. Laverentz died in 1939 at Huron.
Mrs. Laverentz and her son, Gilbert, moved in 1943 to Horton, where they made their home until the time of her death.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Anna Snyder of Botha, Canada, Mrs. Hulda Feltz and Mrs. Caroline Hansen, both of Willis, Mrs. Edna McLaughlin of Horton and Mrs. Goldie Albeis of Bendena,
six sons, Ed Laverentz of Fairview, Antone of Marysville William Laverentz of Bendena, SSgt Luther Laverentz of West, Va , George Laverentz of Horton, and Gilbert Laverentz of the home 30 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Three children preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lament, also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ella Lipton of Wymore, Neb, and Mrs. Ida Gormley of Severance, and three brothers, Gormley of Severance, and three brothers, George Molt of Horton, Chris Molt of Parma, Idaho, and Charles Molt of Huron.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Horton, and was active in church work. She was very devoted to her family and interested in the activities of her community. Funeral arrangements are pending word from her daughter in Canada The body is at the Rake Mortuary in Horton.
