Mrs. Madelyn Olivia Craig McKennon 92, resident of West Sheepneck Road, Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee was Born Friday August 20, 1920, died on Friday, October 12, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Brother Larry Fralix and Pastor Paul Raines officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday, October 15 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Feed the Children, P. O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101-0036.

The Maury County native was the daughter of Leonard Basil and Lelier Mai Craig of the Rockdale community. She attended the Old Sandy Hook School. She was a homemaker and she loved to embroider and make quilts. She made each grandchild and great-grandchild a quilt. She was a member of the Sandy Hook/Enterprise Methodist Church. She was a wonderful Christian lady and a great prayer warrior that her family and friends could call at any time and ask for her prayers. She loved her family dearly. She read her Bible every morning and night and slept with the New Testament under her pillow. God and Jesus were the most important part of her life. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Psalms 116:15.

Survivors include her daughters: Alta Mai (Wayne) Holloway, Ellen Olivia (Jerry) Kennedy; son: Nathan Edward (Flora) McKennon; grandchildren: Jerilen Renee Gray, Lori Lynn (Mike) Cook, Kevin Earnest (Lori) Kennedy, Joni Renee Holloway, Michael Edward (Emily) McKennon; 14 great-grandchildren: Derek (Melissa) Gene Gray, Rodney Wayne (Courtney) Kennedy, Samantha Brynn Gray, Brittany Kaye Kennedy, Michael Dylan Kennedy, Shelby Lynn Cook, Joshua Nathaniel Golden, Alisyn Paige Golden, Jordan Lamar Akins, James Jackson Cook, Hunter Blake Kennedy, Maci Ann McKennon, Levi Edward and Lexi Lavender McKennon; 8 great great-grandchildren: McKenzie Marie Gray, Tyler Colten Lovett, Ryder Wayne Kennedy, Layla Marie Kennedy and Maci Jean Gray, Trevor Wayne Webb, Briana Lynn Messina, and Frank Christopher Messina; siblings: Milton (Katie) Craig, Richard "Dick" (Ruth) Craig, Bill (Lena) Craig and Gene (Carolyn) Craig.

In addition to her husband, Roy Edward McKennon, who passed away on July 11, 1972 and her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son: Roy Neal McKennon; granddaughter: Janet Darlene Kennedy; grandsons: Ronnie Wayne Kennedy and Kenneth Wayne Holloway; sister Jeanette Renfro and brother: Leonard Smith Craig.

Pallbearers will include: Gene Craig, Michael McKennon, Mike Cook, Jackson Cook Steve Renfro and Scotty Renfro. Honorary pallbearers will include: Members of the Enterprise Methodist Church and friends and neighbors of the Rockdale and Sandy Hook community.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Shaun Reed, Nurse Shanon and the nurses of Hospice Compassus, employees of Maury Regional Home Health and doctors and nurses of Maury Regional Medical Center.
