"MAJOR A. SCATTERGOOD
Phila. Man Was Veteran of Two Wars and Member of P. N. G.
Major George A. Scattergood, a veteran of the Spanish American and Philippine Wars and for eighteen years a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard, died early yesterday morning of heart disease at his home, 737 Northeast boulevard. He was 47 years old and lived in Philadelphia all his life.
He was a member of the firm of Scattergood, Birdsell & Satterthwaite, accountants, with offices in the Land Title Building.
Major Scattergood received the rank of major after his service in the Philippines, when he was attached to the Third U. S. cavalry. He retired from the National Guard of Pennsylvania twelve years ago. During the World War he was with the Seventh National Guard of New York.
He is survived by his widow and one son. Funeral services will be held from his home Monday morning with interment in Westminster Cemetery."
