Norma was born in Fairview, Oneida, Idaho. The town of Fairview is now considered a ghost town, and therefore, not acknowledged on the drop-down list of towns for Find A Grave.
*In January of 1897. Little Norma left with her family by railroad out of northern Utah to join other family members in Arizona. She had five older siblings, Rhoda the oldest, Edsil, Willard, Loren, & Mina.
*The weather at the time was below zero. They arrived in Bowie, Arizona after 4 days, and they had to stay there for two nights until the next train headed west. Their final destination was Thatcher, Arizona, which had no station, just a big sign. No family was there to greet them, but another gentlemen who carried the mail directed them to their family's home, so they walked the rest of the way there. The weather was like summer there. Their first home in Thatcher was a small house.
*Elva was born 8th of October 1899 while still living the same house. After a few years Thomas Blain rented Uncle Joe Allred's farm in Thatcher.
*Three more brothers were born, Marvin on the 25th October 1901 & Orin the 16th of January 1905 & Harmon the 18th of October 1907, which made their Blain family complete with 10 children.
Autun Morrell Combs & Norma Elzina (Blain) Combs were married on July 26, 1914 in Central, Graham Co, AZ. They were later sealed to each other in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on June 7, 1918.
Autun & Norma's four children were all born in Arizona. They lived there until between 1925 & 1930 when they made a big move to Los Angeles, California to raise their family.
