DALTON—On Saturday, May 21,
1938, at her residence, 525 4th Street,
JENNIE, beloved wife of the late
John J. Dalton; devoted mother of
Mrs. Edward Hummel, Mrs. Walter
J. Donahue, John E. George F.,
Martha J. and Grace E. Dalton;
also beloved sister of Mrs. Mary A.
Madden and Thomas J. Howley of
California. Funeral from her residence
Tuesday, May 24; thence to
St. Saviour's R. C. Church, 8th Ave.
and 6th St., at 9:30 a.m. Interment
Holy Cross Cemetery. (California

Mrs. Jennie Dalton
Active in Charity
Helped Two Hospitals
and Child Cripples Until
She Became ill

Mrs. Jennie Dalton, widow of John
Joseph Dalton and an active worker
for Catholic charities until she became
ill about two years ago, died
yesterday in her home, 525 4th St.
Her husband, who died In December,
1929, was president of John J.
Dalton, Inc., In Manhattan, and was
widely known in business, civic,
charitable and social circles here.
Mrs. Dalton's charitable Interests
included the Ladies Auxiliaries of
St. Mary's and Holy Family Hospitals
and the St. Charles Home for
Crippled Children at Port Jefferson.
She was a member of Branch
1028 of the Ladles Catholic Benevolent
Association. Born in the old
20th Ward, she had lived in Brooklyn
all her life. Mr. Dalton's association
with borough activities covered
a period of 50 years.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs.
Edward Hummel, Mrs. Walter J.
Donahue and Martha J. and Grace
F. Dalton, and two sons, John E.
and George F. Dalton. A solemn
requiem mass 10 am.
in St. Saviour's R. C. Church, 8th
Ave. and 6th St., will be followed
by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
