Peter Ahl, 79, (photo) retired county farmer, died Monday afternoon at his home in St. Nazianz of a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from the St. Gregory's Catholic church in the village. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Ahl was born in Newton in 1865 and in 1888 he married Miss Rose Marx at Silver Lake. They located on a farm in Newton until 1905, when they moved to a farm home in Meeme. Five years ago they retired and moved into St. Nazianz.
In 1938 Mr. and Mrs. Ahl observed their golden wedding anniversary.
Survivors are the wife; three sons, Joseph of Silver Lake, Frank of Sheboygan, John, on the Meeme homestead; seven daughters, Mrs. Anna Frey of St. Louis, Mrs. Joseph Fitzgerald of Liberty, Mrs. Charles Hasmer of Francis Creek, Mrs. Gerlad (sic) Glaeser of route 4; Manitowoc, Mrs. Olive Dunn of Spring Valley, Mrs. William Bertsche
and Mrs. Lillian Lutzke of Meeme; 37 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A son, George, died August 3, this year.

his wife Ursula Riedl was born Oct. 19, 1820 and died June 12, 1903 -both are buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Alverno, Town of Manitowoc Rapids] -farmer in
Town of Newton until 1905, moving in 1905 to a farm near Pigeon Lake in Town of Meeme -around 1938, retired from farming and moved to St. Nazianz -born Town of Newton -died from "coronary occlusion, arteriosclerosis, arthritis")
