BYRD, JAMES (JIM) HALE - age 83 of Lancing Tennessee passed away, Thursday, October 11, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was born May 27th 1929. A Veteran of the US Air Force where he served from 1950 to 1952 in New Foundland. He retired from Martin-Marietta, Oak Ridge, TN in 1991. He was preceded in death by father, H.C. Byrd, mother, Dallie Daugherty Brannon, son,: Daniel H. Byrd, and grandson, Brad , and loving husband to his wife of 57 years: Kathleen L. Byrd.
Also Surviving are sons: James R. Byrd and wife Pamela and Brad Byrd and wife Buffy of Wartburg, Michael D.Byrd, Mark Byrd and Joel Byrd and wife Jill of Lancing; daughter: Kelly Gosnell and husband Lacy of Wartburg; sister: Ruby Greene of Indiana; special brother-in-law: Doug Melton; granddaughters: Lauren, Lyndsay, Jerrika, Bethany, Abigail, Ali and Kaylee.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 6:00 t0 8:00 PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 8:00 pm with Bro. Charles Webb officiating. A graveside Service with full Military Honors will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Clear Creek Cemetery, Lancing.Published in Knoxville News Sentinel on October 13, 2012
