Loren Eugene Brown, Sr., "Tuff", age 87, passed away at his home on Saturday.
Loren was born in Burlington, Iowa on December 27, 1922, to Harry and Eva M. (Slezak) Brown. Loren served his country in the US Navy from 1940 to 1946 and is a Pearl Harbor survivor. Tuff worked for 25 years as a welder for Fruehaf Trailer, retiring in 1987. His memberships included the American Legion Post 265 in Greenfield, Iowa, VFW Post 737, Council Bluffs and Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Georgia J. (Turner) Brown; son-in-law, David Snyder; brother, Arthur Brown; sisters, Velma Lohafer and Letha Ahnen; and his in-laws, Harold and Susan Shinn.
Survivors include wife of 57 years, Mary Ann (Shinn) Brown; son, Loren E. Brown, Jr. "Bud", and wife, Ruth Ann, of Brighton, Ill.; daughter, Evon Arlene Quinn, of Council Bluffs; son, Howard E. Bebout, of Layton, Utah; twin daughters, Patty L. Worley and husband, James W. II, of Montgomery, Ala., Kathy L. Snyder, of Council Bluffs; son, Steven D. Brown, of Council Bluffs; daughters, Jacqueline A. Kruse and husband, Thomas L., of Seward, Neb., Theresa R. Merchen, of Council Bluffs; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister, Delores Scott, of Powell, Wyo.
