L.A. Walden

Funeral service for L. A. Walden, age 79, of Decatur, will be Friday, October 12, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Scotty Hogan officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.


Mr. Walden, who died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born March 3, 1933, in Morgan County, to Lonnie A. Walden and Myrtle Cowart Walden.

He is survived by his wife, Nora Terry Walden of Decatur; two sons, Steve Walden (Anita) of Decatur, and Mark Walden (Nan) of Trinity; three grandsons, Nathan Walden (Mandy), Adam Walden, and Grant Walden (Haley); one granddaughter, Amy Johnson (Tim); and five great-grandchildren, Gavin Walden, Marley Walden, Ellery Clair Walden, Ella Rose Johnson, and Ty Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Walden, Adam Walden, Tim Johnson, Mike Davenport, Bob Westbrook, and Mike Sumners. Honorary pallbearers will be Gavin Walden, Dale Westbrook, and Danny Westbrook.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westmeade Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
