She married (1) Lisle C. Post April 20, 1947 in the Rev. Clayton W. Crooks, Esperance, home. She married (2) Alfred A. Horning February 02, 1974, son of Oliver Horning and Phoebe Scott.

Eleanor T. Horning, 69, of Dillenbeck Road, Palatine Bridge, died Saturday at Bassett Health Care in Cooperstown after a long illness.

Born in Cherry Valley, May 19, 1927, she was the daughter of Edgar Spencer and Bertha Eckerson.

She graduated from Fultonville High School in 1944. She moved to Palatine Bridge from the Town of Root in 1972. Mrs. Horning was a machine operator at the Beech-Nut Life Savers Corp. in Canajoharie for 30 years, retiring in 1985. After her retirement, she spent winters in St. Cloud, Fla. She was a member of the Canajoharie United Methodist Church and the Cross Trails Square Dance Club.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred A. Horning, whom she married Feb. 2, 1974; two daughters, Donna Marie Jones of Nelliston and Peggy Lee Allen of Canajoharie; a son, Dale Lisle Post of Gloversville; a stepson, Richard Horning of Gloversville; a step-daughter, Sandra Gibson of Canajoharie; a brother, Carl Spencer of Ballston Lake; a sister, Doris McCaffery of St. Cloud, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
