Elizabeth Angelitic Williams left this world to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Elizabeth was born on November 16, 1925, to the late Leonard and Lelia Goggins Rittenhouse in Cottage Grove, Alabama.

She left home as a teenager in an attempt to better her life, and she met and married Willis Sol Williams.

Elizabeth accepted Christ at an early age. She was an active and faithful member of the Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and as a member of the Mother's Board, until her health would no longer allow her to participate.
Elizabeth was a peaceful soul who loved the Lord and her family. As a widowed parent she worked hard to make sure that her children were taken care of and that they were taught the word of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Sol Williams, in 1969. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Mary Virginia Garrett and her granddaughter Teresa Williams.

She leaves to treasure her memory, her children: Linda Sue Bledsoe-Toledo, OH; Sol Leonard Williams-Evansville, IN; Gwendolyn Cheaney-Evansville, IN; Eugene Williams-Jacksonville, FL; Maria Williams-Evansville, IN; and Lela Ann Gamble, Kansas City, MO; eighteen grandchildren - Camille, Jacqueline, Simeon, Eric, Calbert, Elizabeth, Erica, Tammi, Veronica, Stephanie, Leslie, Denise, Leah, Naomi, Asa, Daniel, Rebecca; fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

We thank the Nurses and staff of the Golden Living nursing center for all of their hard work and for the care that was given to our mother during her time there. We ask God's blessing over your lives and to all those who visited her and shared their love.

Visitation will be held at the Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 465 South Elliott Street, Evansville, IN 47713 on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the same location on the same day at 12:00 p.m. with the Pastor Richard E. Pollard, officiating.
