EDWIN D. CLIFTON is the son of JOSEPH JOSIAH "JOE" CLIFTON and wife, SARAH JANE "JANEY" BUCHANAN. Both are buried in Edna, Texas.
EDWIN D. CLIFTON'S siblings are: John Alfred Clifton (1881-1963); Samuel David Clifton(1884-1957); Beatrice Clifton, (1886-1903), who married Farrell Butler; Joel Bennett Clifton (1889-1969); William Arthur (1895-1959); Hugh Martin Clifton (1898-1982) and Alfred Alvin Clifton (1902-1977).
NED was a paint and paper hanger by trade. He and other members of his family moved to Houston and did this type of work for a living. He died young as a result of absorbing too much lead from the paint, called "lead poisoning". He had black hair and brown eyes and was the peace maker of his family.
NED's family was of the Baptist faith. When he married VIOLA, who was of the Catholic faith, they compromised and became Methodists.
