He was born December 19, 1930 in Lohrville, Iowa, to Harold Ransom and Violette Blanche Stout Ransom. He attended schools in Rupert, and then joined the US Navy; he served in San Diego, Hawaii, and Japan during the Korean Conflict. On January 16, 1956, he married Lida Ann Poore in Elko, Nevada; their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in February of 1979. He worked as a Maintenance Mechanic at the INL and various potato processing plants.
Vincent is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including the Sunday School President, Cub Scout Leader and 13 years in the High Priest Group Leadership; he enjoyed cooking for ward activities and was the ward dance director, he also served as an officiator in the LDS Temple for 6 years. He enjoyed his grandchildren, snowmobiling, waterskiing, flying, dancing and tinkering with old cars.
He is survived by his wife, Lida Ann Ransom, of Ririe, daughter, Gaylene (James) Ker, of St. Anthony, brother, Donald Ransom, of Twin Falls, stepbrother, Jack (Margarita) Cullimore, of Astoria, Washington, granddaughter, Sasha Clayton (Christopher) Worrell, of Lyman, and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ramona.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the Ririe Stake Center, with Bishop Alan Young, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
