Resident of Brentwood, CA Francesco passed away on Saturday from a challenging recovery due to heart surgery. Francesco was born in Trapani, Sicily and relocated to Monterey, CA as a fisherman. He was inducted into US Army 1951 Korean War. He retired in 1984 from US Steel, Pittsburg, CA from a 31 year career. Francesco loved to travel, paint and cook. He is survived by 3 children from his 1st marriage Frances Riffe. Rosine Lietz (Chris), Norine DiMaggio, John DiMaggio (Carla), 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Joe and Sal. Additional relatives in Monterey and Rome Italy. He was predeceased by his wife, Monica Lorenzetti-DiMaggio, and is survived by his stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His loving spirit will be missed. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thurs. Oct 4, 2012 at 5:30, Vigil at 7pm at Holy Cross Chapel, Funeral service on Fri. Oct 5,2012 at 12pm at Most Holy Rosary Church, 1210 A Street, Antioch, CA. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. 925-757-0658.
