Jeffery Scott "Jeff" Smith
Birth: Aug. 7, 1964
Ohio, USA
Death: Jul. 24, 1989
Hamilton County
Ohio, USA

Thank you for visiting my dear friend. He had a zest and passion for life that I know he has carried on with him to heaven. Your visit means so much. The next time you see a boy and a skateboard with his dog it just might be Jeff skirting by to say hello! God bless.

🌹Jeffery Scott Smith was the adopted son of Leon and Betty Smith of Loveland, Ohio, Seilcrest Acres Subdivision, Warren County.
Jeff was my childhood friend. He was smart, clever, and fun to be with. There was never a dull moment when Jeff was around. We would play the game Hands Down, also Sock Em' Rock Em' Robots. We enjoyed playing Go Fish and Chinees checkers. When we played outside he would have us play Star Trek and I always had to say,"Beam me up Scotty." He insisted on it every time! We would also play Superman or Batman and Robin. If we weren't playing in our yards we would be found exploring the woods that surrounded our subdivision. There use to be a large vine which hung between two trees and the kids would all swing on it. There was always something new to explore. Sometimes we would scoop up tadpoles from the many ponds that dotted the subdivision and we would sit for what seemed like hours on end watching them swim about in the jars. Soon they grew little legs and we would put them back into the ponds where they became frogs which serenaded us throughout the night on those hot summer nights.
During his elementary school years he and his sister Jennifer went to a private school of their church, Norwood Baptist Church. Later his parents divorced, Leon received custody of the children and they moved to Morrow, Ohio where Jeff entered high school at Kings High School.
After Jeff graduated from high school he went out to San Fransisco, California to try to find his birth parents. He did manage to find them, but they never embraced him, which was a great sorrow he took with him to his grave.
In around 1987 while out on his apartment balcony with a couple of friends the balcony gave way and fell three stories to the ground carrying Jeff with it. His friends made it off of the deck in time, but Jeff did not. He was still alive and rushed to the hospital where surgeons fought to save his life. He received many blood transfusions during this fight for his life. He managed to pull through, which was a testimony to his spirit.
He spent the remaining short time in a wheel chair, but he still retained his beautiful bright smile and upbeat attitude. It was soon learned that he had contracted aides through tainted blood during his surgery to save his life. This was around the time the medical profession became aware of the problem with aides being passed through tainted blood transfusions. Not much was yet known about this disease at that time, medications were limited, and death often soon followed. This brought him much suffering and ultimately caused symptoms to develop which ended his young and vibrant life on July 24, 1989.
I miss my good friend to this day. I miss seeing him on his skate board or bicycle with his little dog running along with him. The memories of him will live on like beautiful summer days or crisp sunny days in winter after the snow has fallen and the light of the sun lays glistening along the landscape.

God bless you Jeff and may you rest in peace in the arms of God.
