Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt died of natural causes on September 27, 2008 in Salt Lake City, UT.

She was born on August 18, 1933 in Osgood, Missouri to Joseph and Marie Phipps Long. She married William K. Christensen on October 23, 1954. Following Bill's death she found love again with Byron Willden and his family.

Barbara waitressed at Dee's Restaurant and Ft. Douglas Country Club. She also worked for Abbott Labs. Barbara and Bill shared many friends through the Good Sam.

In 2005, Barbara joined the Catholic Church; where she also enjoyed her relationships with the women of SWORDS.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Nancy Brown (Gregory) Parker, grandson Gregory Parker Jr., sisters Lucille Bianchi, JoDelene Nielsen, brother Robert Long, and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, grandson Eric Swanson, and sister Louise Dillier.

Funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon on Friday, October 3, at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Private inurnment services will be held at a later date.
