Herbert A. Whitney, a retired brick burner, died today at his residence, 85 Garden Street. He was widely known in the Hudson Valley brick industry and had burned brick at nearly all the plants along the river at one time or another.
Mr. Whitney was a member of Ulster Lodge, No. 193, F.&A.M. of Saugerties and a veteran member of Aretas Lodge of Odd Fellows, and the St. James Methodist Church.

Besides his wife, Carrie Streeter Whitney, he leaves two sisters, Miss Lillian Whitney and Miss Ethel Whitney, both of Poughkeepsie.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the A. Carr and Son Funeral Home, 1 Pearl Street. Burial will be in Montrepose Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m.

Burial will be in Montrepose Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral parlors between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m., today and Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday evenings many friends called at the parlors to pay their respects. There were many floral bouquets. Burial was in Montrepose Cemetery.
