Dale Wesley Ogle Sr. age 85, of Newcastle, OK, departed this earthly life on Oct. 5, 2012 in Huntsville, Alabama after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born March 8, 1927, on a farm in Bartlett, KS. He was the 5th child of six children born to Daniel Wesley Ogle and Etta May (Mumy) Ogle.
Dale grew up a farm boy in Altamont, KS. While in elementary school he met the love of his life, Anna May Tarvin. Years later on May 24, 1947, Dale and Anna were married. For the past 65 years they have been happily married and still very much in love.
Dale proudly served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. After being honorably discharged in 1946 he returned home to Kansas. While living in Kansas, he began working for Trans World Airlines as a machinist. He worked from June 11, 1951 until his retirement on October 30, 1983. Dale was a member of The Grand Lodge of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for 35 years. Dale moved his family to Newcastle, in 1961 and attended the Newcastle First Baptist Church.
He loved traveling and visiting with family and friends. Dale had a very giving spirit and was always willing to lend a hand. He was the ultimate handyman and a darn good mechanic!
Dale was preceded in death by: Parents: Dan and Etta 2 Brothers: Raymond and Ivan Ogle 2 Sisters: Lynn Smith and Jean Rands
He cherished the family that he leaves behind: Including his wife; Anna May of the home four children; Dale Wesley Jr. and wife Mae of Gurley, AL; Darrell Wayne Ogle and wife Janice of Gurley, AL Linda Orton and husband James of Newcastle, OK Daniel Rea Ogle and wife Tuca of Choctaw, OK Also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews And his sister, Dora Mae Carver and husband Wayne of Colorado Springs, CO
A special thanks to his granddaughter, Christina Corker and husband Jeff for the care and love they provided for the past few years. Also thanks to Dale and Mae, Darrell and Janice, and Mae's sister, Jean. Although Dale was a quiet man in many ways we know he would want to thank all of those that have helped and assisted in his care.
Graveside funeral services to celebrate his life will be at 2:00 p.m., Tues. October 9, 2012 at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, OK.
