Louis M. Steen, age 84, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Hendrick Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Fourth and Elm Church of Christ with Mike Crowley officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Louis was born on May 1, 1928 in Pampa, Texas to Charles Edwin and Beulah (Burgett) Steen. He was a self-employed contractor for many years. He was a member of Fourth and Elm Church of Christ and also a World War II U.S. Marine veteran. He had been a resident of Sweetwater for 17 years coming from Odessa.
He is survived by his wife, Clydelle Steen of Sweetwater, TX; three daughters, Treva Flanagan, Pam McMaster, Tracy Millican and husband Doug, all of Odessa, Tx; one son, Kevin Steen and wife Carol of Odessa, TX; two step-sons, Larry May and wife Debbie, and Dwayne Lewis and wife Leigh Ann, all of Sweetwater, TX; one step-daughter, Cindy Kellogg and Rob of Plano, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Buddy Mack Steen of Mansfield, TX; two sisters, Jo Carthel of Lubbock, TX and Monita Benham of Canyon, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Beulah Steen, a son, Sean Steen and three sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Jason Bowling, Mason Steen, Brandon Steen, Steven May, Mark May, and Josh Stuart.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 6-8 PM.
