Mary Elizabeth Roessler Cumer, 71, of Canonsburg, died at 7:38 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in Washington Hospital.
She was born June 6, 1935, in Rennerdale, Allegheny County, a daughter of John and Dorothy Roessler .
She was associated with St. John's Lutheran Church in Carnegie. She attended Trinity School District.
She worked as a florist for 25 years and had a shop in her home. She also enjoyed ceramics and participated in many craft shows and flea markets over the past 25 years. She loved bingo and played three times per week.
On May 16, 1955, she married her loving husband, James E. Cumer Sr., in Old Stone Presbyterian Church, Winchester, Va.
Surviving are three children, a loving son, Steven; a loving son, James Jr. and his loving wife, Linda, and their children, Brad, Joseph and Amanda; and another son, Daniel and his children, Heather and Dan. Also surviving are a great-grandson, Tyler; a great-granddaughter, Hallee; and eight siblings, Charles "Harry" Roessler of Imperial, Audrey May of West Virginia, Dorothy Ardeno of Washington, Laura Weaver of Linesway, Keith Ann "Kate" Hillberry of Virginia, Darleen McVay of Washington, Judy Pugh of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dave Roessler of Cleveland.
Deceased are five siblings, John Jr., Edward and Albert Roessler , Britta Napper and Shirley; and a daughter, Tammy, who died May 10, 1994.
Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Salandra Funeral Home, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, Joseph P. Salandra, supervisor. A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 30, in the chapel of Forest Lawn Garden Cemetery, McMurray, with the Rev. Donald Auston officiating.
