A Good Man Gone

Death of Uriah Fleagle, Well known Cedar County.

Mrs. F. A. Kinch of 513 South Fifth street has returned from Clarence, where she was called by the death of her father, Uriah Fleagle, which occured on Thursday. The deceased was an honored pioneer of Cedar County, a devout member of the Methodist church and a man of strong character. The immediate cause of death was apoplexy.

Mr. Fleagle was born in Baltimore, Md., in 1828 and came to Iowa in 1852 where he has since made his home. On June 12, 1854, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Jane Walker who survives him. To them thirteen children were born, eight of whom are living, five daughters, Mrs. F. A. Kinch of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Joe Horwitz of Missouri, Mrs. C. B. Hall of Davenport, Mrs. S. H. Donaldson of Chicago and Mrs. P. Woods of Burlington, and three sons, Harvey of Tipton, Charles of Cedar Rapids and Harry of Iowa City. Mrs. Kinch and Mrs. Donaldson were with him at the time of his death and Mrs. Hall and Charles arrived soon after. At his bequest he was buried in Fairview cemetery where lie the five children who preceded him.
