ARLINGTON - Claranell "Connie" Devine Day, 80, known and loved for her warm smile, unfailing kindness, her quiet perseverance through adversity and strong devotion to her family, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 18, 2008, after a long illness.
Service: Requiem Mass will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Arlington.
Memorials: The family requests that in lieu of flowers, charitable donations to St. Alban's Church, the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer's Association and other worthy causes be made in her memory.
"Mrs. Day was born Sept, 21, 1927, at Pawnee Rock, Kan., to John and Kathryn Smith Devine. She graduated from Pawnee Rock High School and attended Southwestern College in Winfield, and Fort Hays State College in Hays, Kan. After teaching elementary school in Cimarron, she married Roy L. Day Jr. (1928-1990) in 1947. Connie worked for many years in the oil and cotton business as a secretary-bookkeeper and for Six Flags Over Texas in the ticket office. She also was active in the Episcopal Church in Dallas and Arlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; son, Michael A. Day; and a brother, Byron K. Devine."
