Tipton Banker Dies Suddenly in California
W.W. Aldrich, Prominent Business Man, Drops Dead-Was Well Known Citizen.
Tipton, Iowa. March 24--W. W. Aldrich, one of the wealthiest and most prominent bankers and business men of Cedar county, dropped dead yesterday at Bristow, Cal. Mr. Aldrich had been spending some time in California, and was on his way home, when death overtook him. Mrs. Aldrich is visiting in Kansas and it waas her husband's intention to stop and accompany her to their home in Tipton. The body of the deceased banker will be brought here for burial. Mr. Aldrich was about 65 years old, and was vice-president of the City National bank of this city, president of the Eastern Iowa Buidling and Loan Association, and the owner of a stock farm adjoining the city. He leaves a wife and six grown children.
The City National bank is the one of which the late J. H. Coults, who died suddenly in Cedar Rapids some weeks ago, was president.
