MONTFORT — Mrs. Cleo Laverne (Clara) Bowers, age 80, of Montfort, died on Sunday, September 18,1983, in Memorial Hospital of Iowa County in Dodgevllle.

She was born March 27, 1903, In Grant County. Her parents were William and Mary (Ginter) Bisbach. She graduated from Plattevllle Normal School In 1923 and taught In Montfort area rural schools for several years. She was united In marriage to Cleo Bowers June 18, 1930 in Montfort. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors Camp No. 1990 of Montfort, having been Recorder for many years. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and the St. Thomas Altar Society and a member of the Ritchie-Bowers-Kohout V.F.W. Post 9298 Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Cleo of Montfort; two daughters, Mrs. William (Eileen) Heun of Dodgevllle, Mrs. Arthur (Patricia) Benich of Windsor; a son, Ronald of Verona; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence Bisbach of Plattevllle.

Besides her parents, she was preceded In death by a grandson, Jeffrey A. Bowers; and two brothers, George and Elmer Bisbach.

Burial in the ST. THOMAS CATHOLIC CHURCH cemetery.
