|Birth: ||Jul. 18, 1911|
|Death: ||Dec. 5, 1992|
Lillian Gertrude Bascom was 5 years old when her father, Henry B. Bascom died. She was 8 years old when her only sibling, Enlow Bascom died. That left just her mother, Jennie Mae Enlow Bascom and herself.
Lillian never married. She was a family caregiver for her step father, Alfred J. Stroud, Jr., Aunt Minnie, and her mother until their deaths. She always said nobody had a more wonderful step father than she did. She called him Daddy all her life.
Lillian worked as a receptionist in a local doctor's office for many years.
I worked with her in the 1970's many years on our Enlow and Weaver families. Went to visit in Shelbina when I was about 10 years old and then in Feb 1962 when I took my Mom, Grandma Lovelace, and two younger sisters to visit. All were still alive and so glad we made that trip.
Last time I saw Lillian was when she came to Kansas for my wedding Oct. 6, 1962.
She was a wonderful person and we shared many letters back in the day on our families.
This memorial was made in her honor.
